I hope everyone is keeping well..
We finally have some great news with regards to our rendezvous. With the relaxed covid restrictions we can officially announce a fall rendezvous at the Kanaka Dock in Ganges, Salt Spring Island. The dates are Sept 24, 25, and 26. Thanks, Martin for your effort in making this happen.
The Rendezvous will be a little different this fall. A number of our members have mentioned that they would not participate in a potluck dinner so no official dinner get-together will be organized. It will be up to each individual to decide whether or not to allow others onto their boats and we need to be respectful of everyone’s decisions. Let’s be safe, we are not out of this mess yet.
Cherie and I will not have Shooting Stat at the rendezvous as she’s (the boat, not Cherie) at our house getting a refurbishing. I will attend the rendezvous on Saturday and I expect we’ll have a short meeting (AGM) in the afternoon. There will be no registration with all boat owners paying for moorage and electricity themselves.
Hopefully, the border will be open to boaters from the US by this date but of course, that is unknown at this time. As always, Provincial and Federal restrictions may and likely will change.
It’s been 2 years since we last got together as a group. I think all of us look forward to some normality coming back into our lives.
